Form MVP- 26 serves an exempt from paying taxes on a vehicle transferred between ?family members only. The form is filled out to define whether the new owner of the vehicle is going to pay taxes on it. The thing to keep in mind is that only immediate family members can fill out the form. They are:

- Siblings

Form MVP — 26 is accompanied by a REV — 1. This is the Application for Registration and Title of the Vehicle transferred.

The form is due when the vehicle transference between family occurs.
How do I fill out form MVP — 26?
The form is rather short with several fields to be completed. The first part of the form comprises information about the vehicle that is transferred, namely:
- Year
- Make
- Model
- Identification number of the vehicle
- Title number
- Prior owner`s name
- Prior owner`s address, city, state
- New owner`s name
- New owner`s address, city, state
- The date of transference
Indicate from whom the vehicle was transferred. Tick the appropriate box out of 7 available.
The second part of the form is the declaration where the new owner and the prior owner should put their signature. If the prior and new owners have ?the same last name or live at the same address, only new owner signs the affidavit.
